ADHD, Autism & AuDHD Coaching for Adults
A Sovereignty-Based Approach to Neurodivergence
ClinicalLY INFORMED Foundations
Independently Licensed Clinician with twenty-two years of independent clinical practice experience which informs the approach to coaching. While coaching is not a clinical service, the coaching offered by Silhouette Coaching is clinically-informed, neurodivergence-affirming, trauma-informed and compassion-focused.
Neuro-AffirminG AND DEEPLY SPECIALIZED
We offer coaching which is informed by a deeply specialized and experienced focus on late diagnosed/identified/suspected adult neurodivergence. We are passionate about shifting the lens from a deficit-based model and subscribe to the social model of disability. We work deeply with clients in the areas of identity work and how they have been shaped and impacted by the systems in which they have moved.
Frameworks
Deeply experienced in working with identity integration and recontextualization with high-masking neurodivergent adults. Client-led, helping facilitate and fortify your internal anchoring in ways that you may have opted out from in past chapters of your life in order to prioritize emotional or relational safety.
Silhouette COACHING
Silhouette Coaching is a boutique coaching space for late diagnosed or suspected AuDHD adults. We do not provide pyschotherapy or clinical services in this practice but our coaching services are clinically informed and that clinical depth of orientation accentuates the transformative potential of our AuDHD coaching services.
A Clinically Informed, Neurodivergence-Affirming Approach to AuDHD Coaching
Specialized Coaching for Late-Identified, Gifted, High-Masking, and Twice-Exceptional 2E Adults
AuDHD Coaching for Adults Navigating Late Diagnosis, Masking, Burnout & Nervous System Dysregulation
Many adults arrive here after years of searching for explanations that never quite fit. They have read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Completed the assessments. Experimented with productivity systems. Worked with therapists, coaches, consultants, mentors, and support programs. Yet something remains unresolved. Not because they lack insight. Not because they have failed to do the work.
But because many approaches were not designed for the complexity of late-identified autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, gifted, and twice-exceptional adults. Silhouette Coaching was created to address that gap. This is a boutique coaching practice dedicated to the unique realities of adult neurodivergence, with particular specialization in late-identified, self-recognized, and formally diagnosed autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults. The work is grounded in respect for complexity. Not reduction of it.
Clinically Informed Without Being Clinical
While this is a coaching practice rather than a psychotherapy practice, the approach is informed by more than two decades of independent clinical experience.
That distinction matters.
Many adults seeking support are navigating experiences that cannot be understood through productivity frameworks alone.
Masking.
Identity reconstruction.
Burnout.
Complex trauma.
Internalized shame.
Chronic self-monitoring.
Nervous system dysregulation.
Existential questioning.
These experiences often require greater depth than traditional coaching models provide.
The coaching offered here is informed by extensive experience understanding human behavior, psychological development, relational systems, trauma responses, attachment dynamics, and neurodivergent lived experience.
At the same time, coaching remains distinct from therapy.
The focus is not diagnosis or treatment.
The focus is integration, self-understanding, agency, and sustainable change.
Why Neurodivergence Requires a Different Lens
Many neurodivergent adults spend years attempting to solve environmental mismatch through self-improvement.
They become experts at adapting.
Experts at compensating.
Experts at appearing functional.
Yet adaptation is not always the same thing as wellbeing.
A deficit-based framework often asks:
How can this person function more like everyone else?
A neurodivergence-affirming framework asks:
How can this person better understand their own operating system?
That distinction changes everything.
Rather than viewing autistic traits, ADHD traits, sensory differences, cognitive intensity, or divergent communication styles as problems to eliminate, we approach them as realities to understand.
The goal is not normalization.
The goal is alignment.
A Systems-Oriented Perspective
Human beings do not exist in isolation.
Our identities are shaped by families, schools, workplaces, cultures, relationships, institutions, and social expectations.
Many late-identified neurodivergent adults have spent decades receiving feedback that encouraged adaptation while discouraging authenticity.
Over time this can create profound disconnection from internal experience.
A systems-oriented perspective helps illuminate how these patterns developed.
Instead of asking:
"What is wrong with me?"
A different question becomes possible:
"What happened within the systems I learned to survive?"
This shift often reduces shame and increases clarity.
The problem is not always the individual.
Often it is the relationship between individual and environment.
Specialized Experience with High-Masking and Gifted Adults
Many of the adults who seek this work are exceptionally capable.
They have built careers.
Raised families.
Created businesses.
Earned advanced degrees.
Led organizations.
Managed immense responsibility.
Yet external success frequently obscures internal struggle.
Gifted and twice-exceptional adults often become highly skilled compensators.
Their intelligence enables adaptation.
Their insight conceals confusion.
Their competence masks exhaustion.
As a result, they are frequently overlooked by traditional support systems.
This practice recognizes that giftedness and neurodivergence often interact in complex ways.
The goal is not to separate strengths from challenges.
It is to understand the whole system.
Identity Integration Rather Than Performance Optimization
Many coaching models focus primarily on outcomes.
Productivity.
Performance.
Achievement.
Efficiency.
While these outcomes may improve as a byproduct of this work, they are not the central focus.
The deeper focus is identity integration.
When adults begin to understand their nervous systems, cognitive patterns, sensory needs, values, motivations, and authentic preferences more clearly, sustainable change often follows naturally.
The objective is not endless self-improvement.
The objective is greater coherence.
Greater self-trust.
Greater alignment between internal reality and external life.
What Informs This Work
This coaching approach draws from multiple areas of study and practice, including:
neurodivergence-affirming frameworks
trauma-informed approaches
systems theory
attachment theory
nervous system awareness
depth psychology
identity development
existential psychology
giftedness and twice-exceptionality
compassion-focused perspectives
adult neurodivergent lived experience
No single framework fully explains human complexity.
The goal is not rigid adherence to a model.
The goal is understanding the person sitting in front of us.
What Clients Often Appreciate
Many adults describe a sense of relief when they no longer need to explain every aspect of their experience from the beginning.
There is often less time spent proving that something is difficult.
Less time spent justifying sensitivity.
Less time spent translating complexity into simplified language.
Masking is recognized.
Burnout is understood.
Contradictions are expected.
Complexity is welcomed.
This creates space for deeper exploration and more meaningful change.
The Philosophy Underneath the Practice
At its core, this practice is built upon a simple belief:
Human beings function best when they are in relationship with their own truth.
Not the version of themselves demanded by external systems.
Not the version created through chronic adaptation.
Not the version shaped primarily by fear, performance, or survival.
The work is ultimately about reclaiming that relationship.
Strengthening internal authority.
Developing self-trust.
Understanding how your mind and nervous system actually operate.
And creating a life that reflects that understanding.
Begin the Conversation
